Description
The theme of the painting is "Indigo Mutiny" started in 1907, where Patua community were major participants.
Patuas are known for their distinct ethnic art form, created by using only natural colors extracted from various flowers, plants, leaves and other natural resources.
They used to adopt stories from Ramayana, Mahabharata and other Hindu Mythological stories on long scrolls backed by cloth and display them door to door along with songs composed using the theme of the painting to earn their daily requirements.
