*Shammi Kapoor,* born on 21 October 1931, was an _Indian film actor_ and _director._ He was a prominent lead actor in _Hindi cinema_ from the Mid 1950s until the early 1970s and also made a debut in Tamil cinema with the 1992 blockbuster crime drama Amaran. He received the _Filmfare Best Actor Award_ in 1968 for his performance in _Brahmachari_ and _Filmfare Award_ for Best Supporting Actor for _Vidhaata_ in 1982.
