*Nanaji Deshmukh,* was a social reformer from India. He worked in the fields of education, health, and rural self-reliance. He was honoured with the _Padma Vibhushan_ in 1999. He was posthumously awarded the _Bharat Ratna,_ India's highest civilian award in 2019 by Government of India. He was a leader of the _Bharatiya Jana Sangh_ and also a member of the _Rajya Sabha._ He passed away on 27 February 2010.
